On September 6th and 7th, the Austrian pilot, hosted by Freiwillige Feuerwehr Gumpoldskirchen, marked another major milestone for the TREEADS project. This event showcased innovative technologies aimed at combating wildfires, focusing on prevention and reforestation.
The pilot included insightful presentations from several TREEADS partners, along with a live demonstration that underscored the importance of understanding environmental factors in wildfire behavior. This critical knowledge will guide the development of more precise and effective strategies for wildfire prevention and control.
One of the highlights of the demonstration was the use of drones for reforestation efforts, showcasing how this cutting-edge technology can aid in recovery after wildfires. Participants also experienced the future of wildfire management through AR/VR helmets, offering them a firsthand look at how virtual and augmented reality tools are shaping the next generation of fire response strategies.
A huge thank you to Richard Feischl and the entire team at Freiwillige Feuerwehr Gumpoldskirchen for their outstanding collaboration, and to all our partners for making this pilot a success! Weโre proud of the joint efforts that brought this pilot to life and look forward to continuing our work towards a fire-resilient future.
