The TREEADS project continues to innovate in wildfire preparedness education by translating its engaging flyer/folder and Wildfire Game for Kids into multiple languages. Led by JOAFG, this initiative ensures vital information about fire prevention and environmental stewardship reaches a broader, more diverse audience, including children and families across different regions.

The child-friendly flyer/folder is designed for young learners, presenting complex wildfire topics in an accessible format. This 6-page A4 folded resource includes dedicated sections with project details and links for parents, effectively bridging education with actionable knowledge. Complementing this is the interactive Wildfire Game, a 24-card matching activity that teaches players about prevention, forest safety, firefighting methods, and ecosystem health through playful engagement.

By translating these materials, TREEADS empowers communities worldwide to access wildfire preparedness resources in their native languages. This effort aligns with Work Package 10 (WP10) and reflects the project’s commitment to inclusive outreach. Stakeholder workshops have emphasized the importance of raising awareness about forest fires, particularly among younger generations, making these educational tools especially valuable.

The materials serve multiple purposes: educating children about fire risks and responsible behavior, encouraging family participation through shared activities, and supporting cross-regional collaboration by overcoming language barriers.

These translated resources are available for download and use at public events. They can be accessed through the Johanniter Research Projects page: Johanniter Research Projects – TREEADS.

We invite communities to utilize these tools and join us in spreading wildfire awareness. Follow TREEADS on social media for updates and additional educational content.
