On May 8, 2025, the TREEADS project held its Spanish Pilot Final Event in Ávila, Castilla y León, under the title “Leading Technological Innovation Against Environmental Disasters: Advanced Strategies for Forest Fire Prevention, Detection and Restoration”.
The event brought together approximately 40 representatives from scientific institutions, technology partners, national authorities, and media to present the final results of the Spanish pilot activities. Key stakeholders including FAFCYLE, Diputación de Ávila (DdA), University of Salamanca (USAL), and Capgemini participated in the presentations.
The program began with an analysis of Spain’s current forest fire situation by regional and national administration representatives. The TREEADS team then presented comprehensive results from all phases of the Spanish pilot:
-
Prevention strategies developed under the project
-
Advanced detection technologies tested
-
Innovative restoration approaches implemented
A highlight of the event was the roundtable discussion that allowed participants to examine the practical applications of TREEADS tools. National institutions at all administrative levels expressed strong interest in continuing collaboration to further develop these solutions.
The Spanish pilot’s work contributes directly to multiple TREEADS work packages (WP3, WP4, WP5, WP8, WP9 and WP10), demonstrating the project’s integrated approach to holistic fire management.
