The University of Girona took part in the 8th Mediterranean Forest Week in Barcelona from 4th to 8th November 2024. This event brought together experts, policymakers and environmentalists from across the Mediterranean to discuss forest issues. This year’s event placed a special focus on forest restoration and resilience building, examining these topics from scientific, policy, and operational perspectives.
UdG presented two posters on the post-fire restoration planning, featuring the TREEADS Post-fire Spatial Decision Support System. The two posters are titled:
1. Post-fire restoration: application of a spatial decision support system to a large burned area
2. TREEADS PF-SDSS: a web-based spatial decision support system for post-fire management
The poster presentations sparked engaging discussions among participants, with many expressing strong interest, posing insightful questions, and showing enthusiasm for adapting the system for their geographical regions. This positive response underscores the TREEADS’ commitment to advancing innovative approaches in post-fire management planning.
