General Partner description

The University of Girona (UdG) is a public university in Catalonia, Spain, devoted to excellence in teaching and research that strives to contribute to the development and progress of society. UdG has been ranked among the first 100 universities in the world for considering the UN Sustainable Development Goals (“THE World University Rankings” 2019). Research at the UdG is carried out in more than 100 research groups. The Animal Biology research group contributes to TREEADS with a long term expertise in fire ecology, postfire forest management and biodiversity assessments.

Role in TREEADS project

UdG will lead the tasks dealing with Restoration and Adaptation: understanding and technical requirements. The university will contribute to fieldwork and data analyses for the Spanish pilot. UdG main goals are to help developing a standardized procedure for Monitoring Environmental Indicators after fire and a Decision Support System for Adaptive Postfire Management.
