General Partner description
The Decentralized Administration Authority of Crete (D.A.A.C.) constitutes the institution of public administration on the island of Crete that manages all the state affairs of the region of Crete including, among others, Forest and Landscape conservation & management activities; Environmental and Urban planning; Water Resources protection & management actions; Conservation of biodiversity and indigenous-endemic species.
Role in TREEADS project
DAAC will lead the Greek pilot use case in the scenario of evacuating the Samaria Gorge from visitors and wild animals after the braking of a forest-fire. DAAC will contribute with regional medical emergency services, fire brigades and law enforcement units, as well as the civil-protection command through a control center.
