SUMMARY:TREEADS Norwegian Pilot Stakeholder Workshop – September 2024
DESCRIPTION:On September 19\, 2024\, the TREEADS Norwegian Pilot Stakeholder Workshop took place at Thon Hotel Opera in Oslo\, Norway\, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss advancements in holistic wildfire management. The event was an important milestone for TREEADS\, showcasing the project’s contributions to wildfire prevention\, detection\, and restoration. \nWorkshop Highlights\nThe workshop featured oral presentations from TREEADS partners\, covering a range of critical topics: \n\nWorkshop with stakeholders in the Norwegian pilot (FRN)\nHow wooden panels behave in forest fires (BLAB)\nTREEADS workshop on wildfire management (VIPO)\nLogistics for wildfire incidents using ISO standards (Jotne)\nWUI Guidelines for Norway (FRN)\n\nThese presentations provided valuable insights into fire management strategies\, stakeholder collaboration\, and technological advancements\, reinforcing TREEADS’ role in shaping effective wildfire resilience. \nEngaging with Key Stakeholders\nThe event attracted 27 participants\, including representatives from: \n\nThe scientific community\nIndustry and technology partners\nStakeholders in wildfire management\nNational authorities and institutions\n\nA collaborative session was held with the Norwegian user case in FIRE-RES\, another EU-funded project under the same research call. Representatives from NIBIO (Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research) participated\, fostering knowledge exchange and strengthening synergies between projects. \nStakeholder Input & Positive Feedback\nOne of the key interactive activities of the workshop involved group discussions on Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) guidelines for Norway. Stakeholders contributed valuable input\, refining recommendations for improving wildfire response and preparedness. \nParticipants provided positive feedback\, highlighting the workshop’s relevance and its role in shaping future wildfire management strategies in Norway. \nLooking Ahead\nThe TREEADS consortium remains committed to strengthening collaborations with national and international stakeholders to advance wildfire management solutions.
