DESCRIPTION:The TREEADS project recently participated in the Conference of the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance\, held in Germany from February 7-9\, 2025. This event brought together experts\, researchers\, and policymakers to discuss the latest advancements in civil protection and disaster response. \nTREEADS Presentation: The Role of Weather in Forest Fires\nDuring the conference\, Lukas Heydick\, Kira Piechnik\, Pascal Vorwerk\, and Andrea Klippel presented their research on “Weather Factors: How Temperature\, Wind Speed\, and UV Radiation Influence the Ignition of Forest Soil.” This study\, conducted as part of the German pilot within the TREEADS project\, provides critical insights into the environmental conditions that contribute to wildfire ignition and spread. \nThe presentation\, delivered as an oral presentation and conference proceeding\, highlighted the significance of understanding meteorological influences on fire behavior.
