The official Kick-Off Meeting of the TREEADS project took place as a virtual event on February 21st and 22nd, 2022, with the participation of more than 100 experts coming from around Europe and Taiwan. During the first day, interesting presentation and fruitful exchange took place on several key issues and activities related to the project management structure and processes; the work foreseen to gain in-depth understanding of the wildfires lifecycle; the organisational, structural & socio technical factors for TREEADS ecosystem building & modular approach; abd the socio-technological solutions of TREEADS for fire prevention and preparedness as well as fire detection & response. The TREEADS advances on restoration and adaption as well as TREEADS pan-European pilot campaign and impact creation activities were thoroughly discussed during the second day of the meeting. During the coming months, the 47 international partners of the project will work intensively to gain deep understanding of wildfires lifecycle, define users’ & technical requirements, design the framework and prepare for the next deployment phase towards the creation of a holistic technological ecosystem for fire management and sustainable forest management and deliver an impactful, fully adaptable solution for wildfires prevention, detection and restoration of environmental disasters.
